WELCOME to BCLC'S Parenting Education
and Family Engagement Program
Dear BCLC Parents,
As you know, raising children is one of the most rewarding, challenging and important jobs in the world. It is easier done in a community with non-judgmental and caring encouragement, which may be difficult to develop in our fast-paced, over-scheduled lives. Parent-to-parent connections can be one part of a supportive community, heightening the rewards and helping to reduce the stress of those challenges.
BCLC Parents' Learning Center (a play on words suggested by one of our parents) provides several ways for parents to connect, support each other and learn together. The program is set up to help you, the real experts on child-raising, easily meet, share your knowledge and problem-solve together. I hope that you discover the wealth of collective wisdom among you!
The program has three overall goals:

to offer opportunities for parents to build supportive relationships with each other;

to provide opportunities for parents to develop personal and leadership skills, in order to better advocate for themselves and their children;

and to be flexible and accessible, so that parents can engage in it to whatever extent is comfortable for them.
